Bill Hader is grateful for his “support system” — including girlfriend Ali Wong — after discovering his home was “unlivable” following this year’s Los Angeles wildfires.
The Saturday Night Live alum, who previously revealed that his Pacific Palisades home was damaged after the January wildfires, shared on the latest episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast that Wong has since helped him look around for a new wardrobe.
“It is a funny thing that Ali and I went today to just, literally, I had to shop for clothes,” Hader, 46, told host Conan O’Brien, 62. “And it was very sweet. She was like, ‘Let’s go get you some jeans.’ ”
“It was very sweet. It meant a lot to me,” he added. “Because I’m just wearing Uniqlo sweats and my kids are like, ‘You’re living in your pajamas.’ They’re very worried. And I told her about that, and she was like, ‘Well, let me take you out to get some clothes.’ ”

Hader — who shares daughters Hannah, Harper and Hayley with his ex-wife Maggie Carey — told O’Brien that his own house is still “standing” yet “unlivable,” while his ex lost her home in the fires.
The comedian was filming a commercial in Malibu when he realized the “only way I could get up there” to his Palisades home was to join a news crew. He then found “dust” and “toxic stuff everywhere” inside the property.
“I thought I was going to go up there and hopefully the house would be somewhat OK and I could get my passport and get out of there or something. Instead, just seeing the devastation in the community and everything, I was speechless,” Hader said. “I could feel those guys going, ‘Oh, we’re gonna get a good interview with you,’ and they could see that it was hitting me. And then they felt bad, and they went, ‘We’ll just turn off the camera and let’s just take you back.’ “
Hader’s conversation with KTLA 5 ended up airing amid the fires — which began on Jan. 7 and spread quickly in different parts of Los Angeles.

Days before, a rep for Hader told PEOPLE that Hader and Wong were still going strong after the comedian didn’t walk the red carpet with Hader at the 2025 Golden Globes. “Bill was not able to attend the Globes due to a pre-existing eye condition that flared up and he was advised by his doctor to stay home and rest,” the rep explained. “He and Ali are still together.”
PEOPLE confirmed that the pair, who were connected briefly in fall 2022, rekindled their romance in April 2023, following Wong’s divorce from her ex Justin Hakuta.
During her Netflix special Single Lady, for which she took home the best performance in stand-up comedy on television award at the Golden Globes, Wong said she and Hader met after a mutual friend gave him her number.
She recounted how Hader reached out: “Hey, Ali. I just happened to hear the news of your divorce today, and I gotta tell you…I’m excited.’ I am, Ali, because, look, I have had a crush on you forever, and I actually told my best friend years ago that you were my dream girl. And I know this sounds crazy, but, uh, I want you to be my girlfriend.”
As she explained, she ultimately did “fall in love again” with the actor.
