Brian Burns might not be able to overcome the stench of the Giants’ 2-13 record and Myles Garrett’s incredible season to win NFL Defensive Player of the Player, but he is headed back to the Pro Bowl.
Burns was the only Giant named to the Pro Bowl games.
That ended a three-year streak of selections for defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, while Andrew Thomas still has never received the honor despite his place as one of the NFL’s best left tackles.
It is the third career selection for Burns, who was a Pro Bowler in 2021 and 2022 with the Panthers.
He is in the middle of a career-best season, with 15 sacks and three forced fumbles.
Burns, 27, is only the fifth Giant to reach 15 sacks in a season since the stat became official in 1982.
He joined a club with Lawrence Taylor, Leonard Marshall, Jason Pierre-Paul and Michael Strahan.
