Brian Daboll stuck to his same script.
The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported earlier in the week that Daboll, the team’s head coach, and general manager Joe Schoen are not a package deal and could see different fates with their jobs after the season despite the two arriving together from the Bills in 2022.
On Wednesday, Daboll responded to the notion he could be fired while Schoen keeps his job.
“I just focus on the things I can control,” Daboll said.
Has there been enough separation of responsibilities where it would be fair for Daboll to be fired but Schoen to be retained?
“We’re just getting ready here for the Falcons,” Daboll said.
Prior to the Giants’ loss to the Ravens on Sunday, a plane flew over MetLife Stadium carrying the message: “Mr. Mara enough — we won’t stop until you fire everyone.”
One week prior, before the team’s loss to the Saints, a plane flew over the stadium with the message: “Mr. Mara enough — Plz fix this dumpster fire.”
Daboll said that he spoke with co-owner John Mara on Wednesday, though not about the report.
“Just a normal conversation,” Daboll said. “We have good conversations every week.”
Deonte Banks (ribs) and Cor’Dale Flott (quad) were limited participants in practice on Wednesday and both are expected to return for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.
Greg Stroman (shoulder/shin), who got his first start of the year last week with Banks and Flott out, did not practice on Wednesday.
Brian Burns (ankle/neck), Aaron Stinnie (concussion protocol), Bobby Okereke (back) and Patrick Johnson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
Deion Sanders said on Wednesday that if the Giants have the No. 1 pick in the draft, “they’re not going to give up that pick” and that his son, Shedeur, will be the No. 1 pick.
Malik Nabers was recorded over the weekend playing catch with Shedeur on the street in Manhattan with the latter in town to support Colorado teammate Travis Hunter at the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Nabers responded to Sanders’ latest comments on Wednesday.
“Deion is very confident in his son, but that’s something upstairs that they’ve got to do,” Nabers said. “They’ve got to look over the film and see what quarterback that they want. I’m not sure if they want a quarterback. I’m not sure. It’s not draft time, but the decision will be made when it’s time for the draft.”
