Britney Spears is publicly calling out her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

“I will find a new family !!!” Britney, 44, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, November 1, alongside a photo of Dakota Fanning’s character from Uptown Girls flipping someone off.

The singer specifically named Jamie Lynn, 35, elsewhere in the caption.

“Jamie Lynn never let me hold [her daughter] Ivy one time when I would visit in Louisiana during covid in two week trips and [my ex-husband] Kevin [Federline] wouldn’t let me use the bathroom when I would pick my children up in their house !!!” Britney claimed. “They made me feel like a slave and have all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad !!! I will find a new family !!!”

Britney has been candid about her contentious relationship with various family members through the years. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney referred to Jamie Lynn as a “total bitch” before accusing her younger sister of not doing enough to help fight her 13-year conservatorship.

Britney was placed under the controversial conservatorship by her father, Jamie Spears, in 2008. A judge terminated the arrangement in 2021 following Britney’s public testimony.

Jamie Lynn addressed Britney’s bombshell court statements about how her family didn’t support her wishes, writing via Instagram at the time, “Maybe I didn’t support her the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag. And I’ll support her long after. Note that.”

She continued: “I’m so proud of her for using her voice. I’m so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her to do many years ago. If ending the conservatorship or flying to Mars or whatever else she wants to do [will make her happy] — I support that, 100 percent. Because I support my sister. I love my sister. Always have, always will. As long as she’s happy. Let’s keep praying. That’s all.”

Jamie Lynn previously offered her side of the story in her own memoir, Things I Should Have Said, which was released in 2022.

“That love is still there, 100 percent. I love my sister,” Jamie Lynn said during a Good Morning America interview while promoting the book. “I’ve only ever loved and supported her and done what’s right by her, and she knows that. So I don’t know why we’re in this position right now. … I’ve always been my sister’s biggest supporter, so when she needed help, I set up ways to do so.”

Britney, meanwhile, hinted in a separate section of The Woman in Me that she was open to reconciling, writing, “She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and everyone who I feel has wronged me. It’s not that easy.”

In September 2025, an insider told Us that the sisters were “doing better” after a rocky few years. “They’re planning on getting together soon,” the source said at the time. “The girls decided to keep their relationship problems out of the public eye. They FaceTime every few weeks, and Jamie Lynn is planning on visiting Britney next month in L.A.”

A second insider, meanwhile, noted, “They really love one another, but they can be hardheaded siblings.”
