Bud Light, the NFL’s official drinking sponsor, is looking to take advantage of every marketing opportunity it can get.
The beer company is opening a “Celly Jar” that will reward fans with $37,384 to celebrate.
“It’s been a busy week of beer and celebrations! And Bud Light, the Official Beer Sponsor of the NFL, loves to celebrate responsibly,” the company wrote in an email that was released by NFL insider Ari Meirov. “… Why $37,384? Seemed like a fine amount.”
The email ends with the company telling fans to “keep an eye on Bud Light social media channels this weekend to learn how they can receive $10 off a single purchase of Bud Light (12-pack or larger) to celebrate responsibly.”
The total number of the “Celly Jar” adds up to the same amount that the NFL fined 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, Colts guard Matt Goncalves and Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson for having drinking celebrations last week.
Juszczyk was given the highest fine among the three at $14,926. Ferguson was billed $13,611, and Goncalves was charged $8,847.
The three of them have appealed the fines.
Juszczyk said he wasn’t pretending to drink alcohol, and even added that he does not drink it.
The 49ers fullback said his celebration is an ode to his nickname on the field, “Juice,” and also added that when he receives the ball during the game, you can hear fans in the stadium chant, “Juiiccceee.”
Despite the fine being an inconvenience, Juszczyk has been getting the most attention, and he’s been having fun with it.
The trolling of his fine first began after his longtime friend and teammate George Kittle hopped in on the fun by posting a photo of Juszczyk on his X account and told the NFL, “This guy is a menace.”
After the 49ers concluded practice on Thursday, Juszczyk taped over a bottle in his locker and made a makeshift label that read “NOT BEER” and also had a graphic of a juice box, with his No. 44 on it.
When he got home, he and his wife, Kristin Juszczyk, had one last joke before the day came to an end by creating a TikTok video of them making homemade juice, where they were both seen aggressively cutting oranges and squeezing the juice out of them.
