Cafe Mochiko, the Walnut Hills eatery dubbed one of the best bakeries in the U.S. by The New York Times, is set to make its Food Network debut.
The spot that operates as a bakery by day and ramen restaurant by night will appear on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on Friday, June 20, in the “Funky Flavors” episode of season 41.
The FoodNetwork.com guide for the episode states Fieri ventured to a “modern Japanese joint (in Cincinnati) from a husband-and-wife duo (that) is dishing out the-bomb BBQ pork bao and real-deal ramen.”
It also lists Cafe Mochiko’s chicken shoyu ramen recipe, which takes about one day, one hour and 35 minutes to make. The dish includes various ingredients, such as a three-pound whole chicken and instant ramen packets.

Fieri teased the news to The Enquirer on May 5 during his visit to Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate, when he said he shot his series at three Cincinnati-area restaurants that day.
“We just shot three ‘Triple D’ joints today that are what I call ‘destination restaurants,’ like you would drive a couple hours to come and get to one of these restaurants. And I’m not going to tell you what they are yet. You probably already know, but they’re big and they’re hot. Get ready,” he said.
