Kamie Crawford has announced her departure from Catfish after six years.

The 31-year-old multi-hyphenate became known to fans of the beloved show hosted by Nev Schulman when she appeared as a guest host during season 7, which aired from Jan. 2018 to Aug. 2019.

“When I got an email in 2018 from an absolute stranger at Catfish‘s production department asking if I wanted to guest co-host two episodes of one of my favorite shows of all time, I never would’ve imagined the life, love, memories, and worldwide support that it would’ve awarded me,” Crawford wrote in an announcement shared on Instagram and X, formerly Twitter.

Being that Schulman, who has been a host on the show since its premiere in 2012, needed a new co-host following Max Joseph’s departure, Crawford was officially given the role in 2020. The cameras followed them as they met people who fell in love online and wanted validation of their lover’s identities.

Crawford wrote that “every single moment spent traveling the country, meeting so many of you and helping people find love — whether that be from a partner or finding new ways to love themselves a little more,” has made her “so grateful.”

Speaking about her transition from guest host to permanent co-host on the show, she said, “Thank you for wrapping your arms around me and accepting me with welcoming arms. Change is hard but your acceptance and love made it so much easier to fill some already big shoes.”
