Wishful thinking?

Chris Cuomo voted for his brother, Andrew Cuomo, to be president — even though the disgraced former New York governor was not foolish enough to run.

The fired CNN anchor let on to his surprising selection during a podcast interview in which he shared a photo of his ballot — while acknowledging it “might’ve been illegal” to take the pic.

“I probably shouldn’t tell you, but I can tell you who I voted for,” Cuomo, 54, told Patrick Bet-David on his PBD Podcast when the interviewer seemed to assume he voted for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I voted for my brother. I wrote him in,” Cuomo said — adding with a chuckle: “He didn’t win, by the way.”

As his shocked host repeatedly asked if Cuomo was “joking,” the NewsNation host said: “No. I’ll show you the picture.”:

He then handed his phone to Bet-David, who gasped after looking at it: “Get outta here!”

Still, Cuomo was savvy enough to know to not let the podcaster show it onscreen, saying: “I think it might’ve been illegal that I took a picture, so let’s just pretend it didn’t happen.”

The journalist said his brother — who has been widely tipped to be planning a return to politics — seemed completely non-fussed when told about the write-in vote.

Still, he suggested the fallen Democrat seemed to understand why his brother did not vote for the party’s candidate, Harris — while praising “the movement behind” President-elect Donald Trump as being “very real.”

Still, “America can do better than these two candidates,” he argued of Trump and Harris.

“I think this country can do better … To me, I just believe the choices are beneath the standard of American leadership. I think we have way better people to pick from.”

Then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo was understood to have wanted to run for the White House in 2020, until he was persuaded not to by the man who went on to beat Trump that election, current-President Biden.

Cuomo eventually resigned as the Empire State’s governor in August 2021 over a barrage of sexual harassment allegations as well as horrific allegations over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Still, he has repeatedly been tipped as planning a return to politics, including rumors of a possible mayoral run.

Chris Cuomo, meanwhile, was axed from CNN in 2021 over allegations that he assisted with his older brother’s defense against the sexual harassment allegations.
