Cookie chain Crumbl announced on Instagram that it will give away free cookies on Thursday to customers.
Crumbl CEO and co-founder Jason McGowan said in a video posted Wednesday to the brand’s Instagram that the brand will give out free cookies to customers across all of its stores as a “small act of kindness.”
“Life is heavy for a lot of people right now, even here at Crumbl,” McGowan said in the video. “Burdens can weigh more than most people realize, and sometimes even a small act of kindness can make the day feel a little better.”
This week, Crumbl launched its latest menu in collaboration with former Connecticut resident Martha Stewart. The menu is inspired by the relaunch of Stewart’s first book, “Entertaining,” and includes seven recipes featured in the book, such as Chocolate Chip Cookie Thins, Fudge Brownie, Mile-High Lemon Pie, New York Cheesecake, Chocolate Tart Cookie, Pumpkin Sheet Cake and Coconut Layer Cake.
Customers will receive a free Chocolate Chip Cookie Thin on Thursday thanks to Stewart and her team, Crumbl franchise partners and Crumbl bakers, according to McGowan.
“We know a cookie doesn’t fix everything,” McGowan said in the video. “For some, it may not fix anything. But our hope is everyone will feel seen and loved for just a moment.”
In addition to the cookie giveaway, McGowan announced that he and his wife, Whitney, have started a foundation to help eliminate school lunch debt for children. The couple donated $1 million to begin efforts, McGowan said in the video.
Stewart’s menu will be available at Crumbl through Nov. 8.
