Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is out of a temporary walking boot, according to ESPN.
He had recently suffered a minor sprain in his right foot and required the temporary boot, but he no longer needs to wear it, per the outlet.
The 30-year-old quarterback had worn the boot for a week, the Dallas Morning News reported.
An image emerged on social media Wednesday of the Cowboys signal-caller in the boot while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas.
Mexican football commentator Juan Carlos Vázquez alleged the photo had been taken last weekend, but ESPN reported that the precise timeframe of the picture was not known.
It’s also unknown when or how the injury occurred, though Prescott is not expected to be hampered by the issue by the time training camp opens for the Cowboys later this month.
The team’s first practice is slated for July 25.
The Cowboys haven’t held an organized team workout since June 5, which was the final practice of the team’s mandatory two-day minicamp.
Prescott, who previously had season-ending surgery on his ankle in 2020 for a compound fracture and dislocation, is going into the final year of his contract and will earn $29 million in 2024.
He is coming off a season where the Cowboys won the NFC East but fell short again in the first round of the postseason, but Prescott managed to have a strong regular season showing.
He threw for 4,516 yards while leading the NFL in completions (410) and touchdown passes (36).
