Daniel Jones is saying goodbye … for now.
The Colts quarterback saw his season of redemption end in heartbreaking fashion when he tore his Achilles during Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars.
Jones wrote a heartfelt message to those connected to the organization after leading them to an 8-5 start.
“Thank you to my teammates, coaches, the Colts organization, and all the fans for the overwhelming support,” Jones wrote on Instagram, along with a series of photos from the season.
“Tough way to end this season but it has been an honor to wear the horseshoe and play for Colts fans. I’ll miss lining up with my guys, but I’ll be riding with them every step of the way. Go Colts!”
The question now becomes whether Jones has taken his last snap for the franchise — unless you think 44-year-old Philip Rivers is their quarterback of the future.
After a sad end to his Giants stint and a brief run as a Vikings practice squad player, Jones signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Colts last offseason.
He won the starting job over Anthony Richardson and impressed — 3,109 passing yards and 19 touchdowns — under QB-friendly head coach Shane Steichen.
Jones, 28, had been setting himself up for a massive free agency payday with the Colts or another team.
However, his injury — which approximately has a nine-month recovery timeline — complicates things as it’s unclear if he will be ready for the start of next season.
Jones also has the baggage of a disastrous end to his Giants tenure, which saw him demoted to fourth-string before eventually being released at his own request last season.
The Colts pulled Rivers out of retirement as a Band-Aid as they try to resuscitate their once hopeful season.

Richardson is sidelined with a fractured orbital bone suffered in a freak pregame incident, but doubts about his future with the franchise goes beyond the injury.
The No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been plagued by spotty play and losing out on the job to Jones was a glaring indictment on how he is viewed.
