Early voting in Texas for the presidential election is now underway. Registered voters can begin casting their ballots on Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Nov. 1.

The 2024 General Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Across the country, voters will be weighing in on a presidential contest, while in Texas, other key races, including for the U.S. Senate, are on the ballot.

When is early voting in Texas?

Early voting runs from Monday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Nov. 1.

What time does early voting start in Texas?

Times vary by location depending on your county. Here’s a list of election websites for counties across Texas.

For early voting, registered voters may vote at any early voting location in their county of residence.

You can enter your information (name, date of birth, zip code) on the Texas Secretary of State website to find polling places in your county.

What do I need to bring to vote?

There are seven acceptable forms of photo ID:

  • Texas Driver’s License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety

  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS

  • Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS

  • Texas Handgun License issued by DPS

  • United States Military Identification Card

  • United States Citizenship Certificate

  • United States Passport (book or card)

If you do not have an ID here’s a list of supporting documents. Voters will also have to fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration along with documents.

  • copy or original of a government document that shows the voter’s name and address, including the voter’s voter registration certificate

  • copy of or original current utility bill

  • copy of or original bank statement

  • copy of or original government check

  • copy of or original paycheck

  • copy of or original of (a) a certified domestic (from a U.S. state or territory) birth certificate or (b) a document confirming birth admissible in a court of law that establishes the voter’s identity (which may include a foreign birth document).
