Karla Sofía Gascón was starstruck meeting movie icon Harrison Ford.

The Emilia Pérez actress, 52, dished on meeting Ford, 82, during her Monday, Jan. 13 appearance on The Tonight Show. She and Ford met after the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 5, where Gascón’s movie musical won four awards.

“I meet Harrison Ford the other night after the Golden Globes. I was really surprised by the words that he said to me,” the Spanish star said, after describing her Star Wars fandom to host Jimmy Fallon and cohost Bad Bunny.

“It was wonderful. It was an honor. The fact that we were able to hug, because I was going to say, ‘Harrison Ford, you’re my hero,’ and he told me, ‘There are no heroes here.’ “

“I’d rather not say all the wonderful things he said to me, but it was— I cried. So did he. And now I’m only missing Chewbacca,” she added, after describing meeting other Star Wars figures like George Lucas and Mark Hamill in recent months.

The actress described herself as a major Star Wars fan and said meeting Lucas, 80, at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024 “was amazing.” Gascón also noted she and her daughter Victoria, 14, met Hamill, 73, in Toronto recently and took a selfie with the actor.

“When I look at him, he’s the first person in my life that I’m feeling like a fan for me,” said Gascón, whose performance in Emilia Pérez has earned her nominations at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Critics Choice Awards.

Gascón previously reflected on her meaningful meeting with Ford in an Instagram post shared Jan. 6 featuring photos of the pair together.

“For me, really, the most important moment of the last night was this,” she wrote. “The words of affection that Harrison Ford dedicated to me at the end of the gala, which brought tears to my eyes as I watched his. Thank you hero, you are one of the people who made me love cinema and choose this profession, what luck to have been able to embrace you.”
