Emma Stone looked sharp at the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards. The actress arrived at the red carpet on Saturday in Los Angeles in a bespoke, angular ensemble by Emilia Wickstead that embraced the cutout trend.
Stone opted to wear a green and black color-blocked outfit consisting of a black beaded top with a plunging cutout at the center and a contrasting green miniskirt. Stoned paired both with pointed-toe heels and dangling earrings with green gemstones. The “Kinds of Kindness” star was styled by Petra Flannery for the occasion.

Cutout styles have been a favorite choice on the red carpet over the past year, especially as the trend has dominated the 2025 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, the Critics Choice Awards 2025, the “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert,” and the Grammy Awards 2025 — all over the past month.

Flannery also styled Stone for her recent red carpet appearance at “SNL 50: The Anniversary Special,” where the star stepped out in a red popcorn-filled custom Louis Vuitton halter gown. Like at the Independent Spirit Awards, Stone was joined on the red carpet by her husband, Dave McCarey, a former segment director and writer for “SNL.”
Stone also opted for a red gown at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, where she paired her pixie cut with another custom Louis Vuitton gown.
Stone was in attendance at the Independent Spirit Awards 2025 as the executive producer of “A Real Pain,” which won the award for Best Screenplay. “I Saw the TV Glow,” “Problemista” and “Fantasmas” all received nods.
