The emotion was evident in Bruce Beck’s cracking voice over the phone earlier this week, just as it had been live on NBC moments after the Knicks secured their first NBA title in 53 years on June 13 in San Antonio.

Beck’s father, Felix, had been a season ticket holder in the 1960s, and the longtime NBC sporstscaster had been in attendance at the Garden as a 13-year-old fan when the Knicks captured the first title in franchise history in 1970.

After interviewing Knicks luminaries such as Patrick Ewing and Allan Houston and current head coach Mike Brown in the aftermath of their Game 5 clincher at Frost Bank Center, Beck welled up when his news anchor asked him on the air what the victory meant to him.

“I got really teary-eyed because it reminded me of my love for the Knicks as a kid, and the relationship I had with my dad and going to all those Knick games as a kid,” Beck told The Post on Wednesday. “I got really emotional because the Knicks have always been family to me.
