They’re going at it.

In a new attack ad, the Trump campaign blasted Vice President Kamala Harris over her past support for government-guaranteed transgender surgeries for prison inmates and migrants held in detention facilities.

“Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners,” a narrator began in the spot titled, “Nonsense.” “Even the liberal media was shocked Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners and illegal aliens.”

“Kamala’s for they/them. President Trump is for you.”

Earlier this month, just before the debate between former President Donald Trump and Harris, CNN unearthed a past 2020 campaign-era questionnaire from the American Civil Liberties Union, in which the future VP expressed support for government-guaranteed transgender surgeries.

She affirmed that as president, she would use her executive powers to “ensure that transgender and nonbinary people who rely on the state for medical care — including those in prison and immigration detention” would get access to “all necessary surgical care.”

“I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,” she wrote in response.

“Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”

In an interview with the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) Action Fund during the 2020 election cycle, Harris doubled down on that stance.

She claimed that when she served as attorney general of California, she “worked behind the scenes” to ensure that the state’s Department of Corrections changed its policy “so that every transgender inmate in the prison system would have access to the medical care that they desire and need.”

The Trump campaign spot highlights Harris’ comments in that interview with NCTE and showcases headlines from media outlets reporting on her past stance.

The political ad wraps up by touting a headline from 2017 summarizing the 45th president’s agenda, which read “Trump: Lower taxes, bigger paychecks for workers.”

Trump raised the transgender surgery issue during his debate against Harris, chiding that she “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.”

The 78-year-old was asked about his pronouns by Fox News host Laura Ingraham back in July.

“I have no — I don’t want pronouns,” Trump shot back.

The Post reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign about her past position.

Since her abrupt ascension to the Democratic nomination, Harris has been haunted by some of the far-left positions she took during her unsuccessful 2020 bid for the White House.

There’s a laundry list of policy items that Harris has since reversed on, including a ban on plastic straws, and a ban on fracking — a position seen as needed to win Pennsylvania. She has also softened on pushes for Medicare for all, a mandatory gun buyback program that aides reportedly suggested dropping, the decriminalization of illegal border crossings and a federal jobs guarantee.

Trump has indicated that he doesn’t intend to face off against Harris again in a future debate before the election.

Republican vice presidential nominee Ohio Sen. JD Vance is set to go toe-to-toe against Democratic vice presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Oct. 1 in a debate hosted by CBS News.
