Only one captain understands what it means — and, perhaps more importantly, what it takes — to end a championship drought of 50-plus years at Madison Square Garden.
And Mark Messier sees those attributes in Jalen Brunson.
“It’s a selfless endeavor trying to win a championship,” Messier, the Rangers legend, said in an interview with The Post. “And the Knicks have figured out a way to play together and sacrifice themselves for the team, and it’s being led by a warrior in Brunson.
“It’s just great to see. Everybody is caught up in it.”
