Giada de Laurentiis’ chocolate pasta polarized the internet when she took to TikTok with the recipe in December. But that didn’t stop the former Food Network star from bringing it to late night.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, de Laurentiis prepared the controversial dessert, which she called her “childhood favorite” dish, right there on stage, with a little help from Jimmy. And luckily if you missed it, the clip is circulating on social media.

“I love that you’re doing a demo even though we’re not—,” Fallon starts, before Giada cuts him off. “I know, we weren’t supposed to do a demo,” she says. “I can’t help myself.”

She starts by pouring the chocolate hazelnut spread into a bowl of cooked noodles. “I don’t know if this is going to be good. Giada, I’ve got to be honest,” a visibly stressed Jimmy tells her. However, things take a much worse turn after she realizes Fallon overcooked the noodles.

“I don’t know if this is good,” she says. “Hold on, hold on.” De Laurentiis’ solution? Stick her hands straight in the bowl of spaghetti. “You’re unbelievable,” Fallon tells her as she continues to separate the noodles and mix in the chocolate sauce by actual hand.

After the clip landed on Instagram, fans flooded the comment section with their visceral reactions to Giada’s on-air antics. “Yikes…ewww no hahaha,” one person commented, while another said, “I can’t believe you did this !!!! My god !!!!😱😱🙈🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”

“Why is gods name did she man handle it???? You couldn’t pay me to eat that if ANYONE bear clawed ANYTHING like that,” a third person wrote. “That’s the worst thing i have seen on the internet today 😩😂,” another joked.

Others commented: “Can you kindly stop this disaster” and “I’m upset.”

However, others simply found Giada’s demo hilarious. “Omg the hand tossing was so unhinged Giada I’m obsessed hahaha,” a fan chimed in. “Dead when she put her hands into it 💀,” someone else wrote.

“When I’ve had a really bad day, this is sorta the comfort food,” Giada explained of her recipe.

“It’s actually delicious,” Fallon says after trying the chocolate pasta for himself. “I love it, it’s fantastic.”
