Visitors and locals alike have likely found themselves wandering into a 24/7 restaurant or casino in search of something filling after a night out in Reno or Las Vegas. The experience is so widely shared that Food Network named 3 a.m. steak and eggs as Nevada’s most iconic dish in its list, “The Most Iconic Food in All 50 States.”
Here’s what Food Network had to say about this late-night staple — and where it says you can find the best plate in the state.
What is Nevada’s most iconic dish?
Food Network picked 3 a.m. steak and eggs, citing its around-the-clock availability as a key reason.
“Known lovingly as ‘steggs,’ the no-frills late-night/early-morning steak and eggs plate is a cherished ritual for casino workers, tourists and night owls alike,” Food Network wrote.
Where is the best place to get steak and eggs in Nevada?
The Village Pub and Café inside the Ellis Island Hotel, Casino & Brewery in Las Vegas was named the best place in the Silver State to get 3 a.m. steak and eggs. It’s a block east of the Strip at 4178 Koval Lane, just south of Flamingo Road.
“The local favorite aims to please with a generously sized 10-ounce broiled sirloin, two eggs, toast and house-made potatoes,” Food Network wrote.
