Gov. Kathy Hochul will face her GOP opponent, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, in a single debate next month, organizers announced Tuesday.
Hochul, the Democratic incumbent running for a second full term, will go toe-to-toe with the Long Island Republican during a primetime televised debate hosted by Spectrum News on Oct. 13, the company said.
The face-off, set for 7 p.m., will be broadcast on NY1 and Spectrum News statewide in addition to being streamed live on YouTube.
Errol Louis, host of NY1’s “Inside City Hall” and “Capitol Tonight” anchor Susan Arbetter will moderate the program.
Blakeman has blasted Hochul recently for not agreeing to more televised engagements after challenging her to debate him on other networks.
Spectrum will also host an Oct. 1 debate in the state comptroller’s race between incumbent Democrat Tom DiNapoli and GOP candidate Joseph Hernandez.
The debate between incumbent state Attorney General Letitia James and her Republican challenger Saritha Komatireddy will take place Oct. 8, Spectrum said.
