The Grizzlies visit the Thunder Monday night as 12.5-point underdogs with a total of 228.5 points.
Now that we are one-third of the way into the NBA season, the betting market understands every player’s statistical production. If a player still flies under the radar, it usually is a special situation.
And that is the case with Grizzlies guard Cam Spencer. The UConn product almost always comes off the bench but his production has been impressive, even when Ja Morant is healthy and starts.
Spencer has cashed the over on his points prop in 11 straight games. As a reserve point guard, he was initially reluctant to look for his shot. However, as he has become more comfortable and situated, Spencer has played more aggressively and understands his offensive prowess.
When a player faces the defending champs, handicapping their stat line can be tricky. OKC is certainly capable of a blowout victory and that sometimes relegates key players to fewer minutes. But that is just part of the risk of sports betting, as blowouts can occur with any opponent.
Betting on the NBA?
On top of that, the Thunder own the league’s top-rated defensive efficiency. They pride themselves on that side of the ball, but Spencer is pretty talented and is shooting 50 percent from the field and also 3-point territory.
I have an 84-71-2 ATS record in this Post sports section and my next play is Spencer over his points.
The Play: Cam Spencer Over 14.5 points (-116, DraftKings)
