Gunther wants to do more than just beat John Cena in the final match of his legendary career.
The 38-year-old, two-time World Heavyweight champion wants to deliver an outcome to end Cena’s year-long retirement tour that will be etched in fans’ memories forever as he looks to be the first person to make Cena submit since Kurt Angle in 2005. Cena, 48, has only tapped out four times ever in WWE, while carrying the motto of “Never Give Up.”
Gunther won the Last Time is Now Tournament by beating L.A. Knight in the final to get the potentially career-altering chance. With a huge opportunity ahead of him at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” (8 p.m., Peacock) this weekend, Gunther took time for some Q&A with The Post’s Joseph Staszewski.
