The Mayor of Flavortown just can’t get enough of this famous Cincinnati steakhouse.
Emmy-winning TV presenter and celebrity chef Guy Fieri, best known for his Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” expressed his appreciation for Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse again during a May 16 episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
During the 2-hour, 23-minute episode, Fieri asked Rogan if he had ever had Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, to which the podcaster replied, “Where’s that?”
After explaining that there are locations in Cincinnati, Columbus, Nashville and Louisville, Fieri encouraged Rogan to try the fine dining chain because the steaks “crush.”
Fieri also said the steak is one of his favorites in the country, and that he and “Yellowstone” writer and director Taylor Sheridan had recently visited the restaurant while attending the Kentucky Derby in Louisville earlier this month.
“Ruby’s a character amongst characters,” Fieri said.
Fieri’s recent review of the restaurant came less than two weeks after he gushed about the restaurateur and the Queen City’s culinary scene in an interview with The Enquirer at Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate on May 5.
“Jeff Ruby’s a dear friend of mine, he was just on my show today,” Fieri said. “Cincinnati continues to grow and emerge as one of the really cool food cities. You’ve got a lot of culture, a lot of history, and then you’ve got all kinds of next-level chefs coming up.”
Ruby’s role on Fieri’s show is unknown, as his restaurants would not be described as diners, drive-ins or dives.
The TV host also recently filmed at three Cincinnati-area restaurants as part of that beloved “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” series, he said during his appearance at Jungle Jim’s to promote his tequila brand he started with Sammy Hagar, Santo Tequila.
While he hasn’t announced which restaurants will be featured, he did say the establishments are what he calls “destination restaurants.”
