There’s no doubt that Guy Fieri loves Arizona. He’s visited over 40 Arizona restaurants for his hit TV show “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives”, and he recently opened a new location of his restaurant Flavortown Kitchen + Bar PHX inside Sky Harbor International Airport.

In 2025, Fieri returned to two previously visited Phoenix restaurants for his Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives: Triple D Nation”: Tacos Chiwas and Paradise Valley Burger.

“Triple D Nation” revisits restaurants that were previously featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” to see how the businesses are doing now.

Here’s more information about the “Triple D Nation” episodes and how to watch them.

Paradise Valley Burger

Fieri tried two burgers for the new episode: The Fritter, made with a corn muffin fritter, guacamole, green chile, cumin ranch and blueberry habanero compote; and a brand-new Doritos Locos-inspired burger made with a nacho-crusted patty, nacho cheese flavored sour cream, sweet and spicy bacon and salsa verde.

Owner Bret Shapiro said Fieri told him the latest two burgers were the best he’d ever tried from the restaurant.

“He (Fieri) does so much for local businesses,” Shapiro told The Republic. “I know he takes pride in putting spots that he finds really good on the map. And he could be picking from thousands of new restaurants that are awesome, but he comes back to show us some love, because he loves our food. It’s pretty cool.”

The episode titled “Triple D Nation: All American Eats” featuring Paradise Valley Burger Co. premiered on Food Network on March 28.

Tacos Chiwas

Tacos Chiwas shared the news of Fieri’s visit in an Instagram post, which also featured a photo of owners Armando Hernandez and Nadia Holguin holding their baby while in conversation with Fieri inside the restaurant.

“The show really helped us a lot when we had been open not even a full year, when we filmed the original one,” Hernandez told The Republic. “You know, when you have no money to do marketing… we barely even had any type of social media presence. For us, it was a blessing. We wanted to show some gratitude to them because it was something really important and pivotal to the beginning of our career as owners.”

Hernandez told The Republic that the episode was filmed 18 months to two years ago, and that their child pictured in the Instagram post is a toddler now.

The episode, titled “Triple D Nation: Mex-Italian and Meatless,” aired Friday, Dec. 5.
