The celebrity chef of Flavortown fame is set to make an appearance Asheville.
Food Network star and host of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” Guy Fieri will be at the New Leicester Highway ABC Store from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 10. Fieri will be taking pictures with fans and signing bottles of Santos Spirits Tequila, a brand he launched with the rock star Sammy Hagar. Fieri will be signing bottles as long as supplies last.
Was Guy Fieri injured recently?
The self-proclaimed “Mayor of Flavortown” was recently injured while filming his new show, “Flavor Town Food Fight.” In an interview with Fox News Digital published Nov. 26, Fieri, 57, said he had suffered a severe tear in a quad muscle after he tripped on a set of stairs.
Describing the injury as the muscle as “exploded,” Fieri indicated he planned to be on a set of crutches and in a wheelchair for eight weeks.
“One foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,” Fieri said in the interview. “So, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed into itself, the giveaway point.”
Has Guy Fieri ever visited an Asheville restaurant?
Despite the region’s certified food credentials, Fieri has never featured an Asheville restaurant on his show “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” However, his son, Hunter Fieri, featured West Asheville’s The Brew Pump on “Station Nation” in 2022. The social media-based TV show sponsored by Shell in partnership with Food Network celebrated gas stations that had pivoted to chef-led dining experiences.
