On Monday, Congress certified the results of the 2024 presidential election with no objection from many of the same lawmakers who voted to overturn the 2020 results.
Even after a mob of Donald Trump’s supporters assaulted the Capitol four years ago, a total of 147 Republicans voted to overturn the legitimate 2020 presidential election. Numerous lawsuits, surveys and reports from all sides of the political spectrum found no evidence of widespread voter fraud despite Trump’s consistent and untrue claims to this day.
After Trump secured wins in all the swing states he disputed in 2020, lawmakers were silent on election fraud claims they were once adamant about when the results favored a Democratic candidate. Many of these congressmen represent the Heartland states in Washington and pridefully backed up their decision with social media posts echoing Trump’s election fraud lies.
Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN)
What happened today was inexcusable. Every individual who broke the law should be prosecuted harshly.
But they don’t represent the many Hoosiers who drove to DC to make their voices heard peacefully. We need to listen to their concerns.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS)
We must hold accountable any state that disregarded the law or our constitution. The Electoral College is only as strong as the states who are entrusted to follow election laws. That is why I will be supporting objection and debate next week.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO)
Today I have the opportunity and the obligation to speak for my constituents and to object during the electoral college certification. I look forward to the debate

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK)
I joined C-SPAN this morning to talk about why I will be objecting to electoral votes from several states today. I firmly believe the way the electors were chosen violated our Constitution. pic.twitter.com/MVr4ZnNaeg

Rep. Hal Rogers said he voted to overturn the will of the voters because of “valid questions about the integrity of this election,” without offering any specific evidence of such (because there is none) https://t.co/HVTqEBNw1q via @courierjournal

Our options aren’t binary -Congress has an obligation to the millions of Americans who have lost faith in our election process. @RepWalberg and I join our Senate colleagues calling for an Emergency Electoral Commission to perform an audit of the election.https://t.co/MuwD0Ocshx

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH)
Duty. Honor. Country. America fought hard to secure equal protection of all citizens (13, 14, 15, 19th amendments) to pass laws, to overcome Jim Crow, to end corruption. No state is so sovereign that its laws or actions can deny its citizens of 1 person, 1 vote…#DefendFreedom pic.twitter.com/WgXfc5Blcf

Following debate surrounding the state of Arizona’s electors, I have voted to agree to the objection. As Congress debates additional objections, I will continue to share my fellow Oklahomans’ concerns with my House colleagues & work with them to strengthen our election integrity.

Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA)
(1/2) This is not about overturning an election; this is about the people having trust in a legal and accurate vote count. The Governor’s administration should be ashamed of itself for fueling discord by misrepresenting the arguments and facts surrounding this debate.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA)
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA)
Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-TN)

Ballots cast that violate procedures set forth in state statute “may not be included in the certified result of any election.” That is the law and why I will support tomorrow’s objection. This is the last option to protect the rights of Wisconsin voters who cast legal ballots.
