If there’s one thing the internet loves to do, it’s speculate about a woman’s appearance. Are we not tired? Apparently not — after Hilary Duff, 37, posted a new Instagram carousel of close-up portraits of herself on April 15, one user commented, “Why did she do Botox, I swear to god everyone else is the same.” A series of comments followed, with one person speculating, “Its [sic] cheek filler not botox,” and another writing, “Women hate themselves by modifying their body.” God forbid a woman care about her looks!

The Lizzie McGuire star appears to have ignored the comment, but her husband Matthew Koma, musician and adoring Wife Guy (complimentary), did not stand for the slander and quickly replied, “Get fckd [sic] butterfly.” Duff and Koma got married in 2019 and have three daughters together, and Koma has always been open about his love for his wife. “5 years married today to my dream girl & my best friend,” he wrote in a 2024 Instagram post. “As I lay next to you in bed, purely exhausted after our third consecutive 14 hour day of taking our 4 kids skiing — I feel like the luckiest.”

Duff previously spoke about Botox in May 2022, when she told Women’s Health, “We bust our ass to get our bodies in shape and to look the best we can,” she said. “We get facials and Botox and our hair done and highlights and brows and lash lifts and all this shit. But I want to work on the inside. That’s the most important part of the system.” It’s still unconfirmed whether Duff has actually experimented with injectables, but either way, who cares? A world where we stop attacking women for their looks — now, that’s what dreams are made of.
