Indianapolis’ historic Steer-In restaurant will appear in Season 6, Episode 10 of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: Triple D Nation,” a spinoff of Guy Fieri’s famed food and travel show in which the celebrity chef-host revisits restaurants that previously appeared on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
Here’s how to watch Fieri’s latest stop in Indianapolis.
When to watch Steer-In’s appearance on ‘Triple D Nation’
Season 6, Episode 10 of “Triple D Nation,” “BBQ, Biscuits and a Meatball Cake,” will air at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, Jan. 3. The episode will mark Fieri’s second stop at Steer-In, which appeared on the eighth episode of season 11 of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in March 2011.
According to a description on Food Network’s website, Fieri will sample ribs and biscuits in Atlanta and slurp spaghetti and meatballs in New York before cruising through Indy to try Steer-In’s pork tenderloin and Reuben sandwich.

How to watch live, on demand
Cable subscribers with Food Network can watch the episode at 9 p.m. They can also sign in to watch.foodnetwork.com using their cable provider credentials. Streaming services with live TV bundles such as YouTube TV, Hulu and Sling will also allow subscribers to watch “Triple D Nation” when it airs.
Unlike the mainline “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” show — currently in its 40th season — the most recent episodes of “Triple D Nation” are not available to stream for free on any platform. If you don’t catch Steer-In’s appearance live and don’t record it through your television provider or YouTube TV, it will air again at midnight on Friday.
What to know about Steer-In
Located in the east side, this beloved eatery has lived many lives. It opened as Northway Drive-In in the 1950s, became Laughner’s Steer-In in 1960 and then operated as Herald’s Steer-In from 1964-2007 before Charlie and Barbara Kehrer took over the restaurant and coined it Indy’s Historic Steer-In.

The restaurant serves classic diner fare in a squat pastel blue building that still has a drive-in awning, despite ending curb service in 1985. Renowned for hearty breakfasts, burgers and unabashedly Americana comfort foods like taco salad, chili spaghetti and fried chicken, Steer-In is never short on nostalgia.
One wall at Steer-In displays memorabilia of Scecina Memorial High School, which three generations of Kehrers attended, and another wall features Howe and Arsenal Tech relics. Another wall features a United States map jammed with pushpins and sticky notes to indicate the hometowns of the restaurant’s myriad out-of-town visitors.
While Steer-In is the first Indy-area eatery to appear on “Triple D Nation,” it is hardly the first to air on Food Network in recent history. In 2024, the flagship “Triple D” program featured westside Argentine drive-in Che Chori, eastside Mexican spot Tlaolli and a pair of soul food spots in Pa & Ma’s Backyard BBQ and His Place Eatery.
