The label of “Super Team” can be its own kind of championship Kryptonite.
The 2026 Rams elevated into the Super Team stratosphere by adding two future Hall of Fame defensive linemen, plus $175 million worth of starting cornerbacks (in one headline-grabbing offseason) to a nucleus that already included the reigning NFL MVP at quarterback, as well as two of the great receivers of this decade.
And, with that status comes tons of pressure on the third-oldest roster in the NFL, as measured by Spotrac.
“It’s Super Bowl or bust,” Vinny Cerrato, who was the director of player personnel for two Super Teams, told The Post. “The thing about it is they are not going to have fun. You win a game, it’s a relief. It feels like, ‘We can’t lose.’ There is a lot of pressure on them, especially if you hit a little losing streak.”
