F1 is heading north.
The 55th annual running of the Canadian Grand Prix is today, May 24, and will be the fifth round of this year’s F1 World Championship.
For the third time this season, race weekend got started with a sprint race. Mercedes driver George Russell converted a pole position start in the sprint to a victory, marking his second sprint victory this season after winning the opening Chinese GP sprint.
Russell, who won last year’s Canadian Grand Prix, will start at pole with his Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli starting P2 and McLaren’s Lando Norris rounding out the top three.
