Upstate New York IKEA lovers won’t have to wait much longer, as the big day is almost here − Syracuse’s store will open later this month.
The new Destiny USA location will host its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 21, the company announced Wednesday. It’s the third store to open in New York and the first in upstate.
“As we continue to grow in the U.S., we’re thrilled to bring the IKEA experience to the community in Central New York,” says Javier Quiñones, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA U.S. “IKEA Syracuse reflects our commitment to meeting customers where they are, and offering smart, affordable solutions that make everyday life better.”

What time does the Syracuse IKEA’s grand opening start?
Upstate New York IKEA lovers won’t have to wait much longer as the big day is almost here − Syracuse’s store will open later this month.
The grand opening of Syracuse’s IKEA store will start at 9:45 a.m., according to the company’s news release, and customers can begin lining up at 7 a.m.
“We’re excited to celebrate the opening of IKEA Syracuse with the Central New York community,” Unit Manager at IKEA Syracuse John Spence said. “Whether you’re looking to furnish your first apartment, upgrade your kitchen or simply enjoy some Swedish meatballs, we can’t wait to welcome you to the IKEA family!”
What are Syracuse IKEA’s regular store hours?
Regular store hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the company said.
What to expect inside Syracuse’s IKEA location
The almost 70,000-sq.-ft. space will feature various fully-furnished room settings so you can get a better idea of how some of their offerings may work in your home, a curated selection of more than 3,000 products immediately available for purchase and a central planning area where IKEA team members can help you design and order items for your home.
While larger items like couches and beds will be need to be ordered online, you’ll have the option for home delivery or free in-store pickup. There will also be an As-Is department filled with gently used products, discontinued items and more affordable furnishings, the company said.
And, of course, they’ll be offering fan-favorite foods like Swedish meatballs, hot dogs and cinnamon rolls in-store and to take home.
