Ina Garten’s fans are having a fun time playfully mocking her for not knowing what to call a vending machine.
The Food Network star and celebrity chef — who, granted, probably hasn’t eaten a lot of convenience foods in her time — shared a photo Oct. 24 on her social media accounts of a vending machine in the Hamptons packed full of gourmet crackers, cheeses, spreads and olives.
In her caption, Garten, 77, hilariously identified the machine as … an ATM.
“Only in the Hamptons! A cheese and crackers ATM that’s open 24/7! Thank you Cavaniola’s in Sag Harbor!!” Garten wrote, adding champagne glass emoji.
Garten’s fans got a kick out of her lack of familiarity with the convenience device and teased her in the comments.
“Ina not knowing what a vending machine is called is so on brand,” one fan wrote, adding laughing emoji.
“Ina, that contraption is called a vending machine,” another informed her.
Others came up with slogans by riffing on Garten’s caption, like the fan who wrote, “Cheese and crackers for your ATM(at-the-moment) cravings!”
Most of Garten’s fans agreed with her that the machine’s upscale offerings looked enticing.
“For those 3 a.m. charcuterie emergencies,” one joked.
“It’s 3 a.m. and you need some Brie,” quipped another.
“Tell me you’re bougie without telling me your bougie,” added a third.
Garten has never kept her love for savory crackers and a tasty cheese (or two) a secret. The “Be My Guest” host even shared a recipe for one of her favorite go-to snacks, slice-and-bake Chipotle Cheddar Crackers, with readers of TODAY.com.
The buttery crackers are flavored with aged Vermont cheddar cheese and smoky chipotle powder. Garten recommends adding the treats to a cheese board or charcuterie platter, or simply passing them around during a cocktail hour.
