Wood explained that her and Cope’s lives are “not currently aligned how they used to be.”
“We fell in love when we were 15, and we were just two pieces of cardboard,” she said. “And then over time, we became puzzle pieces, and our puzzle pieces just don’t fit. And that is not him. That is not me. It is both of us together.”
Despite the pair’s split, Wood explained that she and Cope are “a team” and “have always been a team.”
“The love we shared is real. The love we still share is real,” she said, “So for the next couple of weeks, I just ask for grace and patience and understanding even when you don’t understand. I’m still trying to figure everything out but I’ve been blessed with you guys, an amazing support system. And I know everything is going to be OK because it always is. Everything always works out. There’s a plan. God knows what he’s doing and I trust in him.”
She continued, “But I did want to come on here and just let you guys know. I’m still the same me, fun, you know, I’m outgoing, I’m excited for life. You’re not going to see those going away. I love you guys and all I can say is thank you. We’re going to get through it together.”
Wood captioned the video, “Some chapters end peacefully. Thank you for your constant love and support 🤍.”
The video has amassed more than 8.7 million views and 1.3 million likes at the time of publication.
Wood, who has more than 2.8 million followers on TikTok, gave fans glimpses of her romance with Cope ahead of their split. The twosome met when they were freshmen in high school before navigating a long-distance relationship after Wood and Cope began college in 2023 at the University of Florida and Eastern University, respectively.
After Wood and Cope finished their first year of college in 2025, the influencer shed insight into how the pair were handling their long-distance relationship.
“It, like, actually makes me wanna cry,” Wood said in the April 2025 TikTok. “Like, the fact that I found such strong love so early on. I’m just so thankful.”
Wood began to give advice for other couples navigating a long-distance relationship, such as going into the commitment with an “open and positive mind.”
