Donald Trump will return for a second term — at the Daytona 500, that is.
After serving as the iconic NASCAR event’s grand marshal in 2020 during his first term as president, the stage seems to be set for Trump to attend Sunday’s race less than a month after coming back to the Oval Office.
He also visited New Orleans for the Super Bowl last weekend.

FAA report points to Trump going to Daytona 500
The Palm Beach Daily News reported Wednesday that Trump is slated be at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach this weekend. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a pair of temporary flight restrictions for the airspace over Palm Beach and the Mar-a-Lago Club, a strong hint that Trump will be there.

The flight restrictions are from 4 p.m. Friday to 1:45 p.m. Sunday, and from 5:45 p.m. Sunday to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 19. The window of time suggests that Trump will be away during Sunday afternoon.
The 2025 Daytona 500 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday. It will air on Fox. As of late Wednesday morning, there has been no temporary flight restriction set for Daytona Beach airspace and the White House has not confirmed Trump’s scheduled whereabouts for Sunday.
Trump visited Daytona 500 five years ago
Before the 2020 Daytona 500, Trump arrived on Air Force One, which did a low flyover past Daytona International Speedway. Once inside the World Center of Racing, he gave the drivers the starting command, with First Lady Melania by his side.
Then, he hopped back into the presidential limo. It joined the other pace cars and safety vehicles on the track and led the 40-car field through a pre-race lap.
Before becoming president, Trump made at least three other appearances at the Great American Race — in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
During his re-election campaign in May 2024, he showed up at the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. That marked his first NASCAR event since 2020.
