Jamien Sherwood entered last season armed with a new contract, a new coach and a new role.
The Jets gave Sherwood a three-year, $45 million deal in March 2025, a show of faith from new coach Aaron Glenn that he believed Sherwood could be at the center of his defense at inside linebacker, a role vacated by the retiring C.J. Mosley.
Like mostly everything about the 2025 Jets, Sherwood’s season was a disappointment. He struggled in coverage, looked out of position way too often and was the play-caller for a defense that often looked lost.
Now, Sherwood returns for his sixth season hoping to bounce back after last year.
