Jeff Goldblum brought his signature style to the 2025 Met Gala.
The Wicked star, 72, walked the stairs at the famed Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5 in Wales Bonner. Goldblum kept it classy in a dark suit, white button-down and black bowtie. The most prominent piece of his outfit was his large overcoat draped over his shoulders, with a fur-lined neck and ornate brooches that stunned on the carpet
“Grace [Wales Bonner], I’m so lucky, she is a dream,” Goldblum told Extra TV on the carpet. “The effort and genius and craftsmanship, I’m just thrilled to wear.”
During the interview, the outlet asked what men’s fashion meant to the actor.
“It’s a gesture, it’s a protest in a way and I support it wholeheartedly,” he said while tracing a heart with his finger.

In October 2024, Vogue shared details on the 2025 Met Gala, announcing that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would co chairs the event, alongside LeBron James as honorary chair. The gala, which is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on the first Monday in May, is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the theme for the gala.
Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton said that the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”
The exhibit “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism,” according to a post on the museum’s Instagram.
The Met Gala’s dress code for this year is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. This year’s event also has a star-studded host committee that includes Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee, Usher and Angel Reese.

Goldblum made his Met Gala debut last year. For the “Garden of Time” theme, Goldblum opted for a timeless look, wearing a relaxed-fit black suit, a white dress shirt and a black vest. Smiling widely as he walked the red carpet, he sported a ribbon-style bow tie and carried a pair of white gloves.

The actor wore a collection of three brooches on his left lapel: a large flower with a pearl drop at the bottom, a smaller flower with a purple gem at the center and a sizable emerald, thought to be a nod to his current project, the two-part Wicked adaptation. Goldblum finished off the look with a white pocket square, a Tiffany Cocktail Watch, a pair of reading glasses tucked into his breast pocket and circle shades on the bridge of his nose.
Like his Wicked co-stars, Goldblum had a busy awards season after starring in the film as the Wizard. At the Academy Awards, Goldblum pulled up in a cream-colored jacket, lined in a lilac-periwinkle fabric, with a purple floral arrangement stitched onto the lapel. Underneath, he wore a floral shirt with hints of turquoise and added black pants to complete the look. He accessorized with a simple brown-banded watch and his iconic chunky shades.

The actor was later caught swiping through his own red carpet photos on his phone while inside the awards show.
Goldblum’s look expertly complemented that of his wife, Emilie Livingston Goldblum, who wore a beige-sheen sheath gown, embellished with silver lace design, as well as gold and pink gemstones on the upper bodice.

At the Critics Choice Awards in February, Goldblum arrived in an all black get-up — black pants, black shirt, black tie — offset by a silver, shimmery cubism-inspired jacket. He sported a bit more of a beard than usual and topped the ensemble off with his usual chunky black shades.

At the BAFTA Awards, Goldblum opted for a simpler look, once again choosing a largely monochromatic black outfit. He paired his black jacket and pants with a white shirt and added a rainbow “vest of Flying Monkey feathers” by Loewe, a nod to Wicked. Like his last Met Gala appearance, he opted for round shades and added a white bow tie to finish the look.
