Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple, are proving they are just like Us.

“Yup we are a real couple … This [is] how we like our temperatures,” Chapple, 60, wrote via his Instagram Story on Saturday, January 4.

Alongside the text, Chapple uploaded an image of the temperatures inside a car. On one side, the temperature was set to 63 degrees, while the other side — which Chapple notated was Vassos’ — the temp was a balmy 84 degrees.

Vassos, 61, replied to Chapple’s snap by reposting the image to her own Instagram Stories on Saturday and writing, “Maybe I should steal some of his socks to keep my feet warm in the car…” (Earlier that day, Vassos uploaded an image of numerous pairs of socks joking that Chapple had 364 matches.)

While the pair navigates each other’s living habits, Vassos and Chapple exclusively told Us Weekly that they are splitting their time in their respective hometowns of Maryland and Kansas — and are also going apartment hunting in New York City.

“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us in November 2024. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”

Vassos, who got engaged to Chapple during the finale of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, told Us that she “never in a million years” thought she would feel “love like this again.” (She was previously married to John Vassos, who died in 2019 from cancer.)

“Living life in your golden years is special. You’re not responsible for raising a family anymore or for a business. You get to really enjoy life. Travel is important to us. One day buying a home together,” she shared in an Us cover story. “After John passed away, I
felt like my future was this black hole. And now it just looks so bright. The possibilities are endless for us. Which is a weird thing to say at this age, but I do feel that way.”
