Bringing Up Bates alum Katie Bates plans to keep her “sweet baby in heaven” close to her heart amid her husband Travis Clark’s affair scandal.

“This necklace is really special to me,” Bates, 25, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, April 4, sharing a photo of her Zumra chain with an angel wing charm and a peridot pendant. “I had a miscarriage in January, and my sister got me this beautiful necklace.”

She continued, “The angel wings and August birthstone represent our sweet baby in heaven [who is] forever a part of our family.”

Katie, one of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children, revealed on January 16 that she suffered a pregnancy loss.

“I will spend the rest of my life missing you,” Katie captioned Instagram footage of the moment she and Clark, 24, found out that they were expecting their third child.

Katie and Clark said “I do” in 2021 before welcoming kids Hailey and Harvey in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

While Clark did not address Katie’s miscarriage, he issued a public apology the next day while revealing his past infidelity.

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,” Clark wrote via his Instagram Stories. “I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”

Since Clark’s shocking reveal, the couple have started to figure out their next steps as a couple and a family.

“I’ve been sitting in what I did for a couple months now, and I feel so much inside but it’s hard to find the right words,” Clark wrote via Instagram last month, addressing the scandal again. “At the end of last year I made decisions I deeply regret. I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself. The last couple months have been humbling.”

He continued, “A lot of hard work, therapy, time with God. I know I’m not owed anything, but I am desperately fighting for my wife and my family every single day. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family.”

Katie and Clark also completed a couple’s therapy intensive program in March.

“Just wrapped up a four-day therapy intensive,” the influencer wrote via her Instagram Stories on March 2. “At some point I may share more, but for now I’m just really thankful for the experience and what I’m walking away with. It was hard. Emotional. Stretching in ways I didn’t fully expect, but it was also one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’m leaving better than I came, and that alone feels like an answered prayer.”
