Saturday Sept. 14, Abbi Knepp, a freshman at Washington High School was honored at KCARC ‘s “Out Of This World” banquet as “Volunteer Of The Year” in Vincennes, Indiana. Knepp has volunteered at many events including kids camp, Miss Marvelous Pageant, Style For A Smile fashion show, and many others.

“I love volunteering at KCARC. The kids and the people there make me smile and it was truely an honor to receive this award,” she said.

Knepp is the daughter of Bob and Barb Knepp of Washington, Indiana.

Sunday, Sept. 15, she competed in the Miss Southern Heartland Scholarship pageant for the Miss American Organization at St. Mary-of- the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was crowned Miss Southern Heartland’s Teen and will now compete for the prestigious title of Miss Indiana in Zionsville, Indiana this June. If she would win that, she would move on to compete for Miss America’s Teen.

” I am so excited to represent Miss Southern Heartland in Zionsville on the big stage. I was involved in the Miss America Organization Princess/Preteen Program for several years and I always knew when I was old enough to come back and compete, I would,” Knepp said.
