ASHEVILLE – An after-hours dessert oasis will soon make its Asheville debut.

Insomnia Cookies is planned to open at 8 College St. downtown, across from Pritchard Park. The grand opening date is to be announced.

It will be the first location in Asheville and the 13th store in North Carolina. The company has more than 280 locations nationwide.

The Pennsylvania-based national bakery chain, founded in 2003, is known for fulfilling the sweet tooth of late-night cookie cravers with in-store and delivery hours until 1 a.m. or later.

Insomnia Cookies’ menu features desserts like the classic chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle and confetti deluxe cookies. Ice cream, brookies, brownies blondies and vegan treats are offered, too.
