LeBron James podcast, ‘Mind The Game’ fueling Warriors rumors

LeBron James is fueling the rumors of him joining forces with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors after informing the Lakers on Monday that he will be departing from the team.

Hours before James and the Lakers announced that he would be departing from the team this summer, his podcast, “Mind The Game,” released a clip of him talking about his time playing alongside Steph Curry during the 2024 summer Olympics.

During the podcast, James and his cohost, Steve Nash, hosted Curry as a special guest on the show and talked about his time playing with Curry, “Everything and more.”

“He was the first person I text when I was trying to assemble the team,” James said. “He said, ‘Goodwillings. I’m good injury-wise, that’s the plan.’ I said, say no more.”

When Curry and James joined forces on Team USA two summers ago, the duo was unstoppable as they led the USA to its fifth consecutive gold medal in basketball.

James was crowned the team’s MVP during the summer games, averaging 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, while Curry was just as good, averaging 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

The 2024 Summer Olympics were the first time Curry appeared in the Olympics.

The Warriors star had unforgettable performances in the semifinals and gold medal game, ending the tournament by sinking 16 of 26 three-pointers during the final two games, and finishing the tournament shooting 47.8% from three-point range.

With James looking for a change of scenery for the first time in eight years, rumors have swirled across the offseason that the Warriors have been intrigued with acquiring the future Hall of Famer.

Both Curry, 38, and James, set to turn 42 next season, are both entering the tail end of their careers. Both of them are four-time NBA Finals champions and are likely looking to add one more ring to their finger before they retire.
