Big Apple Breakfast Co. to close

Big Apple Breakfast Co., a weekend pop-up inside Worthington Pizza Primo serving New York-style breakfast sandwiches, announced on Facebook that it is closing after March 30. The post did not give a reason for the closing, but did thank customers for their “business and support over these past 2+ years” and expressed hope that the “East Coast people” in Central Ohio will be able to find a “decent” bacon egg and cheese elsewhere in town. To grab a last bite of bodega breakfast flavor, visit Big Apple at 895 High St. in Worthington on Fridays 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or weekends 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of the month.

March menu specials

Several local spots are celebrating Pi Day and St. Patrick’s Day with limited-time offerings. The Pearl is offering a “pie flight” with three pies—Elvis (peanut butter and banana), chocolate cream and blueberry—served in jars through March 15. The special is offered at both the Short North and Dublin location of The Pearl.

Kona Grill will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day for a full week—March 14-21—with a corned beef slider special that can be served with green beer. And if you want to combine holidays, try corned beef atop a pie at Dewey’s Pizza, which is serving the Uptown Reuben pizza at its 26 locations through March 24. The Columbus Dispatch has compiled more March menu happenings.
