Maxx Crosby is staying in Sin City.
The star pass rusher signed a contract extension with the Raiders on Wednesday, the team announced, with multiple reports stating it’s a three-year, $106.5 million deal with $91.5 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Crosby, 27, had two years remaining on a four-year, $94 million contract.
The four-time Pro Bowler has been one of the premier defensive ends in the NFL since being selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 draft — ahead of their final year in Oakland before moving to Las Vegas — racking up 59.5 sacks, 144 quarterback hits and 105 tackles for loss during his six pro seasons.
He had 7.5 sacks in 12 games during the 2024 season.
The Raiders have finished below .500 in four of Crosby’s six years and they’ve made the playoffs just once during that stretch; they lost to the Bengals in the wild-card round in the 2021-22 season.
Crosby has stated a desire to be a “Raider for life” but also has expressed frustration at times with how things have gone for the franchise, which finished 4-13 this past season and fired Antonio Pierce after just one season as the team’s full-time head coach.
NFL Network reported before Super Bowl 2025 that Crosby’s future with the team was “up in the air,” and the Raiders still have a massive void at quarterback.
Crosby said on his podcast “The Rush” that he hopes the Raiders sign Aaron Rodgers after the Jets decided to move on from the 41-year-old.
And so he’ll stick it out in Vegas after the Raiders hired former Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Carroll — getting paid handsomely in the process.
