The cast of Ghosts is largely made up of apparitions, but its actors are flesh and blood with beating hearts — and they’ve got the love interests to prove it.
Centered on a couple named Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) who plan to turn their old inherited mansion into a bed and breakfast, the show has plenty of romance despite Sam’s ability to see spirits in the haunted establishment.
In addition to lots of spooky fun, Ghost’s fourth season, airing on May 8, explores the love stories of several characters, including its protagonists, Issac (Brandon Scott Jones), his longtime flame Nigel (John Hartman) and Issac’s new love interest Chris (Deniz Akdeniz).
Viewers also follow along with Flower (Sheila Carrasco) and her boyfriend Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long); and Pete (Richie Moriarty) and Donna (Allegra Edwards), to name a few.
Behind the scenes, nearly all of the sitcom’s main stars are coupled up, from McIver, who welcomed her first child, husband George Byrne, in the summer of 2024, to Wiscocky and husband Lap Chi Chu, who have been married for a decade.
Here’s everything to know about the real-life loves of the Ghosts’ cast.

Rose McIver and George Byrne arrive at the 81st Golden Globe Awards on January 7, 2024 in Beverly Hills, California.
Series lead Rose McIver, a.k.a. Sam, has what McIver has called “a most remarkable marriage” with her faux spouse Jay. “She has a husband who has stood by her through something that most people couldn’t ever fathom,” she told Collider in February 2025.
In real life, McIver has been married to Byrne, an artist and sibling to Bridesmaids’ Rose Byrne, since Jan. 2, 2023. “It was really lovely. We eloped. … It was so nice,” she said on The Talk of their Santa Barbara, Calif., wedding.
The following year, McIver debuted a baby bump on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and their daughter Chloe was born in the summer of 2024.
While it’s unclear how the pair met, they have been together since at least 2017, when McIver shared an Instagram post promoting George’s song Stars & Stripes. “Can’t believe he also writes music this good,” she penned.
McIver has continued to express admiration for her husband over the years, congratulating him on a show closing in 2021. “I couldn’t be prouder of the incredible outcome of his book release and show,” she wrote. “I get to see first hand the phenomenal amount of dedication and hard work that goes into everything he does.”
