We don’t know when plastic surgery became taboo, but it’s come back in some form. People are allowed to do plastic surgery, whether it’s Botox or a nose job, to make them feel confident (as long as it’s all safe and in moderation). Along with that, you can choose to forgo plastic surgery entirely, it’s all your individual choice. But what’s not cool is speculating if someone had it or not, and the iconic actress Meg Ryan has a few words for people who do so.
In a brand-new interview with The Sunday Times on Dec 15, the Sleepless in Seattle star talked about everything from her children to Nora Ephron, romance to of course, what she thinks about those speculating whether or not she’s had plastic surgery.
While speaking with Hadley Freeman with the outlet, they briefly discussed how so many have questions about whether she’s had plastic surgery and what her relationship status is. And Ryan’s response? “Move on.”
Blunt! To the point! We love it, and we love that Ryan gives no time to those invasive questions and speculation. She’s thriving, and that’s all fans should care about.
In a previous interview with IO Donna, Ryan made rare comments about aging, and how she sees it as a privilege. “I appreciate my years, I say that seriously,” she said. “I appreciate my age. For me, now, it is more important to say clearly what you think rather than pleasing others and trying to make everyone happy.”
She also admitted that she feels “almost liberated” by eliminating the people-pleasing aspect of her life as well. And with this new interview with The Sunday Times, it’s clear she’s holding that aspect up and eliminating the people-pleasing.
