ORLANDO, Fla. (Gray News) – Miss America 2025 and Miss America Teen 2025 have been crowned.
More than 50 women from throughout the United States and Puerto Rico competed for the title of Miss America, but it was Miss Alabama Abbie Stockard who won the crown at the pageant’s 104th annual event.
Stockard, 22, is from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and currently attends Auburn University as a nursing student. The university praised her win.
Stockard was named in the pageant’s top five finalists, including 1st runner-up Miss Texas, 2nd runner-up Miss Tennessee, 3rd runner-up Miss Florida and 4th runner-up Miss Ohio.
Following her win, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey posted a photo of the two standing together in the governor’s office, in which Ivey also praised the win.
Stockard becomes the fourth Miss Alabama to earn the title. The others include 2005’s Deidre Downs, 1995’s Heather Whitestone, who held the distinction of being the first deaf woman to wear the crown, and 1951’s Yolande Betbeze.
In addition to being crowned, Stockard also earns a $50,000 tuition scholarship.
The day before, Miss Arkansas Teen Peyton Bolling was announced as the winner of the Miss America Teen 2025 pageant also held in Orlando.
The Rogers, Arkansas, native made history becoming the first Miss Arkansas Teen to win the pageant.
Bolling, a senior at Bentonville High School, was chosen as one of five finalists along with Miss Mississippi Teen, Miss Texas Teen, Miss Alabama Teen and Miss New Jersey Teen.
