Moe’s Southwest Grill Chili Crisp Chicken burrito and burrito bowl

The Moe’s Southwestern Grill you know and love for burritos, bowl, and more has been switching things up recently by offering innovative protein choices. First, the company debuted the Blazin’ Birria Taco, a spicy and crunchy take on Mexican shredded beef. Then, it had Tequila Lime Chicken, a tangy, alcohol-free protein with hints of agave and citrus. Now, it’s time for Chili Crisp Chicken, available for a limited time starting today at all Moe’s locations.

Chili Crisp Chicken is where Asian and Mexican flavors merge. It begins with Mr. Bing’s Chili Crisp, one of several Asian condiments from the brand helmed by Food Network alum Jet Tila. Mr. Bing’s Chili Crisp is an updated take on the classic Asian street food sauce and is made with garlic, onions, mushroom powder and four types of peppers. The condiment is added to onions, garlic, chile de arbol, guajillo peppers, fresh jalapeños and spices and then poured over Moe’s signature Adobo Chicken. It’s the perfect bite of spicy, crunchy and freshness, pulling inspiration from both Mexican and Asian cultures.

The fusion flavor profiles are part of the restaurant’s efforts to keep spice things up, says Joe Artime, vice president of marketing at Moe’s Southwestern Grill. “We want to keep flavors fresh and exciting for our guests. We add limited time premium proteins to our menu to excite our community based on what our guests are craving. This also allows us to maintain our core menu and fresh and free ingredients so they can still customize and introduce new flavors among their favorites at Moe’s,” he told Food & Wine.

Moe’s loyalists get first dibs on tasting the new protein for free in celebration of the launch. Starting today, Moe’s app users will be offered a gratis Chili Crisp Chicken Crunchy Taco. A hard corn shell is piled high with chicken, lettuce, pico de gallo and Oaxacan cheese before being topped with a creamy and cooling Poblano Crema sauce.

While the taco might be the perfect vehicle to taste test the new menu item, it’s not the only one: the Chili Crisp Chicken is available to put in everything — from the O.G. Homewrecker Burrito to a build-your-own nachos plate.

If the Chili Crisp Chicken performs anything like the last two limited-edition meats, you’ll want to head to a Moe’s Southwestern Grill quickly before it sells out.
