A mom and a teen were reportedly injured while watching a San Francisco Fleet Week show.

On Sunday, Oct. 13, a Fleet Week performance by the U.S. Navy’s Leap Frogs ended with one of the six parachutists crashing into two spectators while landing, according to reports from ABC7, KTVU and San Francisco Chronicle.

The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. local time at the Marina Green park.

The San Francisco Fire Department told KTVU that the mother and teen suffered minor injuries from the collision and the mother was taken to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, the parachutist was uninjured after evaluation.

A spokesperson from the Navy told the outlet that they are unsure what caused the incident to happen, but are looking into it.

“Safety is our number one priority. We cannot immediately assess what happened; however, we will review this incident to determine the cause,” the spokesperson said.

The U.S. Navy press office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

A video obtained by KTVU shows the events that transpired before and after the collision. In the video, several concerned citizens gathered around a person who is lying on the ground. A woman is later shown being wheeled away from the crowd on a stretcher.

People in the area told ABC7 that it appeared as though the woman suffered a neck injury.

“Everybody was like, ‘Whoa, what just happened?’ It was unexpected,” spectator Monette Rockymore, who was at the event with her daughter, told the outlet.

She also expressed that, in the moment, she feared the parachutist was going to land in a more unfavorable area, saying, “I thought he was about to hit the stoplight all the way to the concrete zone, but I’m glad he made it to the grass area.”

San Francisco Fleet Week is an annual event that occurred from Oct. 4-14, 2024. According to the website, the event “attracts fans from all over the globe” and is considered “the only air show in the United States with a commercial airliner, the United 777, to perform a fully choreographed act.”
