PANAMA CITY BEACH — Aldi has announced the opening time and date for its newest store in Bay County.
The new store will open at 9 a.m. Feb. 20 at 23200 Front Beach Road.
In August, officials announced that two Bay County Winn-Dixie stores would be converted to Aldi’s. They are the stores on Front Beach Road and the one at 3157 W. 23rd St., Panama City.
This is all part of a larger corporate plan.
“In March (2024), the Germany-based company Aldi acquired Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket, and announced an ambitious 5-year, $9 billion plan to add 800 stores nationwide through new stores and store conversions,” USA TODAY NETWORK-Florida reported. “The company expects to convert about 50 of its new stores by the end of the year, with most reopening in 2025.”
Aldi is known for providing affordable groceries and fresh food.
According to a press release, the first 100 customers at the new Aldi on Front Beach Road will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of Aldi exclusive products and a gift card as part of the Aldi Golden Ticket giveaway program. Shoppers also can enter a sweepstakes for a $500 Aldi gift card through opening weekend.
