Located within Safe Harbor Rybovich along Flagler Drive in the north end of West Palm Beach, the new Lamarina is one of the city’s only waterfront restaurants and already becoming a destination.
Opened on Nov. 19, the new restaurant is literally, through its menu, decor, service and ambiance, designed to transport guests to their favorite coastal destinations.
Though views of the water and yachts will help with the feeling of being transported, Lamarina’s menu, which draws its inspiration from Mediterranean, Latin and Asian flavors, will definitely complete the final leg of the journey.
Curated by chefs Alex Bustamante and Kent Thurston, the menu features dishes crafted using locally-sourced ingredients that celebrate coastal cuisine and vibrant tastes.
Some of their standout options include the Maine lobster spaghetti with spicy pomodoro and pangrattato; the butterflied branzino with preserved lemon and green goddess raita; and whole grilled prawns, wild caught and featuring harissa butter and lemon. For land lovers, guests can opt for the Châtel Farms prime New York strip 10-ounce with shallot butter and salsa verde; and the Sunbird Farms chicken milanese, with pan crisped with arugula, parmesan aioli and preserved lemon.
There are also raw bar options and a sushi menu. Diners can dig into crispy Maine lobster tacos made with spicy mayo, avocado, cilantro and citrus ponzu; hamachi crudo with serrano chile and charred citrus ponzu; and the signature Lamarina Roll, featuring king crab, torched salmon and a truffle miso glaze.
Keeping up with their food menu, Lamarina’s cocktail menu is impressive as well with creative libations like the pearl drop martini featuring vodka, St. Germain, lychee and lime juice; the lamojito made with dark rum, strawberry and coconut puree; and the guavatini with gin, squeezed lemon and guava.
Owned and operated by North End Hospitality, a partnership between West Palm Beach-based NDT Development and Nick Coniglio, the new 200-seat restaurant features indoor and covered outdoor seating.
Taking over the space formerly occupied by M/Y Café at the beginning of last summer, NEH operating partner Trish Thurston said they spent several months completely redesigning the space to capitalize on their waterfront views and creating something unique.
Gushing about the look and the ambiance they’ve created, Thurston said “It’s one of those spots… you just walk into this amazing backdrop.”
Though currently open Tuesday to Sunday for dinner only, Thurston said they are “planning on expanding with brunch at the end of January/beginning of February and then hopefully get into lunch as well.”
Passionate about the look and the concept of the restaurant, they are also focused on being part of the local community.
“We’re really excited to introduce Lamarina to West Palm Beach’s Northwood area, a neighborhood North End Hospitality is incredibly passionate about. Lamarina brings a true waterfront restaurant to the area and our goal is for the restaurant to evolve into the go-to neighborhood spot for locals and visitors alike,” Thurston said.
